There are plenty of people who don't really understand the purpose of my blog. I don't blame them because it took me a lot of studying and praying to figure out exactly what I was trying to do myself! It all comes down to one thing: I truly feel God wants me to inspire His people through the gift of writing. So, that's exactly what I plan on doing. I searched for months for different outlets to publish my writings, but only found a few that held true to the mission at hand.
My first gig was with Southern Beauty Magazine. I started writing for them in September of 2009 and have been in love with it ever since. In January of 2010, I started blogging for BeautyGirlBlog.com. I felt so at home with both of these publishers, but I still feel like my writing is a little limited because I have to make sure I'm writing to their audiences. Hence, the need for Felicia's Daughter.
Here, I can write whatever I feel God calls me to write. Report on inspirational events I attend, give my thoughts on music, movies, books...whatever! Since I can't cover everything (hey, I'm only one woman), I'm going to try to stick to things that are going on along the Gulf Coast. But as I get word of other events I will definitely post them. I'm excited and eager to see how far this thing goes. But one thing I'm not is afraid because as long as I have the will of God fueling my every move, I can't go wrong!
